STABLE PAINT
Protek Stable Coat is the sensible choice for Equestrian Buildings
This stable paint is a water-based micro-porous acrylic coating additive that uses nanotechnology to deliver an extreme hydrophobic layer of protection. Stable Coat offers excellent long-term protection for stables and all other types of timber buildings. This coating is designed for the water-proofing of pressure treated timber buildings for up to 3 years (depending on levels of wear & tear + exposure)
We recommend using Stable Coat on a bi-annually basis.

What is Stable Paint
Stable paint is a water-based wood stain with a fairly thin consistency that is easily applied by brush, roller or HVLP sprayer. After use remove excess product and clean brush, roller or sprayer components with warm water and detergent.
For the first treatment it is recommended that 2 coats of stable paint should be applied with only one coat needed for future maintenance and re-treatment.
Great Coverage
1 litre will cover approximately 10m2 per coat depending on the moisture content and porosity of the surface. For the first stable paint treatment we recommend that two coats be applied with only one coat needed for future maintenance and re-treatment. Additional coats will further enhance the colour and give more time before re-treatment is required.
Drying Time
Stable coat is touch dry within 2 hours depending on drying conditions and humidity.
Surface Preparation - Step 1
Surfaces should be cleaned with warm water, detergent and a stiff brush. Make sure that all mould or algae is removed and rinse well. Ensure that timber is fully dry. For best results previous treatments should be removed or well weathered.
Stable Paint Application - Step 2
Mix well before use. Protek Stable Paint is of a stain consistency that can be applied by a pump-up garden sprayer, brush or roller. Apply second coat when the first coat has fully dried, approximately 4-12 hours. Drying time will depend on weather conditions being quicker on a hot dry day and longer in cold damp conditions. Maintain every 1 – 3 years or as required.
Splashes and drips can only be cleaned with warm water and detergent whilst still wet.
DO NOT apply in temperatures below 5oC or if wet weather is expected within 48 hours.
DO NOT apply to wet, damp or frozen timber.
Easy Clean Up
Remove excess treatment from the brush or roller and wash with warm water and detergent. Wash nozzle and pipe from sprayer immediately after use with warm water and detergent – do not allow product to dry in sprayer components.
